If you haven’t already - Download the Bridger Watch App in the Apple App or Google Play Store and create your profile.
Powering on for the first time:
- *Note* Wait to power on your watch until you have your preferred wifi network available
- Press and hold the upper right, “Select”, button for 7 seconds to power on your watch. If the screen does not illuminate, connect your watch to power with the charging cable to trigger start up.
Button Basics and Navigating in your Watch
Button Layout:
- Upper Right: Select / Start
- Lower Right: Back
- Upper Left: Up / Zoom In (Maps)
- Lower Left: Down / Zoom Out (Maps)
To put your watch to sleep simply cover the screen with your palm
Wake your watch by pressing any external button or raising your wrist to as if you are looking at the screen
Pairing Instructions:

Quick note on setting up your account: Currently, there are two small tricks you need to know.
- From the home screen of the app, select “Download Map”, enter your phone number, then tap “Create Account.”
- After creating your password, the app will ask for a 6-digit code via text. Enter 4242 (yes—just 4 digits) to authenticate and continue setup.
Before you power on your watch:
For a smoother setup, we recommend waiting until you’re near your preferred Wi-Fi network and have the password handy.
Getting your watch set up:
- Press and hold the upper right (Select) button for ~7 seconds to power on. If nothing happens, plug it into the charger to trigger startup
- Tap Continue
- When prompted to pair your phone, press the upper right button to confirm
- You’ll see a QR code on the watch - Important: This must be scanned from the Bridger Watch app (not your phone’s camera)
To scan the QR code:
- Open the Bridger Watch app
- Go to the Settings tab (bottom right)
- Tap “Pair Watch” → “Go to My Camera”
- Scan the QR code on your watch
- A number will appear on both your watch and phone — confirm they match and select “Yes, it matches”
- When prompted, allow Bluetooth pairing
- Allow notifications when prompted
You’re now paired.
Next, the app will prompt you to set up Wi-Fi — don’t skip this step.
- Select your network
- Enter your password and tap Connect
Note: If needed, you can turn Wi-Fi on from the watch control panel after pairing — your network info will already be saved.
From there, you’ll enter a few details (height, weight, DOB, wrist preference) to optimize your health metrics.
And that’s it — you’re up and running.

- Continue swiping to the end to manage widgets.
Control Panel
Access the Control Panel from the home screen by pressing the Back button.
In the control panel you can access:
- Bluetooth
- Wi-Fi
- Do not disturb
- Vibration
- Sound
- Red Shift
- Battery Modes
- Watch Face
- Alarm Clock
- Touch On/Off
- Flashlight
Select to turn on, Utilize the lower left button to select color and brightness. To turn off you can select on screen or select the back button
All Settings: Here you can edit and rearrange tiles
Notifications:

After pairing you will also want to check for software updates.
First connect to wifi:
- Access your control panel from the home screen by pressing the lower right button labeled 'back'
- Select the 'wifi' tile in the top right
- Toggle your wifi to on
- Select your saved network. It will indicate a green chain link when connected.
Then initiate a software update:
- Access your control panel from the home screen by pressing the lower right button labeled 'back'
- Scroll down to 'All Settings' and select
- Scroll to 'System' and select
- Scroll to 'Software update' and select
And that’s it — you’re up and running.
Widgets:
Access Widgets from the home screen by swiping left. There you will view:

To customize these goals, touch the specific metric you’d like to customize, scroll to desired goal, and press the green check mark or the Select button to save.
Also view:
- heart rate trends
- Steps per day trends
- Sleep data
- Altitude chart trends

Hot Keys -
Navigate to your control panel, then all settings, and system. Hot Keys is the first one listed
Select and it gives you a bunch of options to customize
Favoriting and managing activity profiles:
- From the home screen, select the Upper Right “Select” button.
- Favorite activities will appear first. To favorite an activity tap the “+”icon and select which activities you want to favorite, then press the “select” button to save
- Select “All Activities” at the bottom to browse all options
Customizing your Watch Face:
Access the Control Panel from the home screen by pressing the Back button.
To change Home Screen:
- Scroll to ‘Watch Face’ and select ‘Main Theme’
- Browse and select preferred watch face
Note - Some watch faces impact battery life more than others. These are noted on the screen as you browse.
To turn on Always On Display
- Always On Display will display a simple analog clock and date when locked instead of a black screen. Note - This is a high battery drain.
- Scroll to ‘Watch Face’ and select “Always On Display’
- Toggle switch to ‘On’ - Will turn from gray to red to indicate it is on
To turn on Night Theme
Night Theme is an alternate lower light and simplified home screen that you can schedule between certain hours.
- Scroll to ‘Watch Face’ and select ‘Night Theme’
- Toggle switch to ‘On’
- When turned ‘On’ you can browse styles and dictate schedule
- All Settings > Display > Auto Brightness, check it on
- How to start and save your first activity
- From the home screen, select the Upper Right “Select” button.
- Favorite activities will appear first. To favorite an activity tap the “+”icon and select which activities you want to favorite, then press the “select” button to save
- Select “All Activities” at the bottom to browse all options or choose one of your favorites
- Select your activity of choice and press the “Select” button or the “play” button logo in the top right of the screen
- The touchscreen will automatically lock. Press and hold the lock icon to unlock.
Note: while locked, you can still navigate the buttons if you would like to pause or stop the activity without unlocking touchscreen
Map Basics:
- Access your maps from the home screen by pressing the Upper Left button.
- Pan by swiping on the touchscreen.
- Zoom in: Upper left button
- Zoom out: Lower left button.
Note: Pinch/Spread to Zoom in/out is coming soon!
Downloading Your First Map
Getting maps onto your watch is fast—and once you’ve done it once, it’s second nature.
Step 1: Open the App → Download a Map
- Tap Download Map
- You’ll see a rectangle on the map:
- 🔴 Red = too large
- 🟢 Green = ready to download
- Zoom in until the box turns green, then tap Download
Once it finishes, you’ll see the map saved in your app.
Step 2: Verify Wi-Fi Is On in Your Watch
- Access Wi-Fi settings on your watch in the control panel by selecting the lower left button from the home screen.
- Select the Wi-Fi tile, Turn Wi-Fi on, and connect
Step 3: Sync to Your Watch
On your watch:
- Navigate to Maps Manager from the home screen by selecting the ‘back’ button and scrolling down.
- Select Maps Manager
- Tap Sync Maps
Typical Timing
- Small maps: approximately 30-90 seconds
- Larger maps: approximately 3-5 minutes
Step 4: You’re Done
Once syncing finishes:
- Head back to your map list on the watch
- Your map will be there, ready to use
- Pro Tip: Start with a smaller test map first—it’s the fastest way to get familiar with the flow.
NOTE: Like most satellite devices, Bridger Watch needs a clear view of the sky to quickly and accurately acquire a GPS lock. If you're seeing a red dot on your maps, the watch has not acquired your location yet, and is likely displaying your position in it's last known location, where you have not yet downloaded offline maps. For best results, initiate maps while outside with a clear view of the sky.
Dropping New Waypoints
- When on the Map screen, press the ‘start’ button:
- Select “Add Waypoint”
- Choose a waypoint color
- You will now see a small pin on the map. The pin defaults to your current location. If you wish to drop the waypoint somewhere else on the map, simply pan the map to align the waypoint where you want it.
- Press the ‘start’ button again. Your waypoint is now saved and will show up as the color you selected.
Recording Tracks:
Start Recording a Track:
- From the map screen, press the Start button.
- Select Record Track. Your track will begin recording and display on the map.
- Stop Recording a Track:
- Press the Start button again
- Select Stop Recording (under Tracks List). Your track will be saved.
View or Manage Recorded Tracks:
- Open the Tracks List menu
- Find your saved track
- Select it to view or delete.
onX Integration
To transfer content from onX to your Bridger Watch
- Open the onX Hunt App
- Select the piece of content, multiple pieces of content, or entire folder you want to transfer
- Select “Export”
- Under the apps list, find Bridger and select it
- The Bridger Watch app should open, and prompt you to import the content. Select Import
- The
data should now be present on your maps on the Bridger App. To transfer
the data to the watch, navigate to the Home page on the Bridger app. - In the upper right corner, hit the “Watch Sync” button, after you ensure your watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth
- Your watch should begin the sync, and you’ll see a green progress bar on the watch screen
- Once sync is complete, close and re-open maps.
Your content will now be visible on the watch!
Troubleshooting Tips:
If
you don't see the green progress indicator on your watch after
beginning a sync, close and reopen the app and try again. Sometimes it
needs a little refresh!If the sync completes, but you don't see
waypoints on your watch yet, close and reopen maps on your watch to load
the new points.
