I’ve had my watch about 3 months now. I’ve been in the field using it multiple times a week, for 8 days on an Archery Antelope hunt and now 2 long weekend of deer hunting. Using the Maps on the. Watch was helpful, but it needs more zoom to be able to keep on a track I’ve already laid down on Maps. The Ballistic feature actually came in handy with some “In between “ yardage that I did not have printed on my scope.
Tracking activities is another thing. The mileage and elevation gain and loss are off quite a bit compared to my other watch and phone and hunting partner phone and Garmin watch. Also GPS takes minutes not seconds to acquire.
The fit and feel of the watch is great IMO. I just wish I could have more accurate data for my activities.
It would also be good to be able to edit the titles of our tracks and waypoints saved in the app.

Bridger Watch4 hours agoBill, thanks for putting the RECKON to work through antelope and deer season and sharing the detailed feedback. Glad the maps have been useful and the ballistics helped fill those gaps in your scope data.
You should be able to trust your activity data, and improving mileage and elevation accuracy is a priority for our engineering team right now. Our latest update should also noticeably improve GPS acquisition time as well as fixed any milage issues.
We’re developing pinch-to-zoom for that deeper zoom levels, and we hear you on being able to rename tracks and waypoints in the app.
We appreciate the time you’ve spent talking with our team. As hunters ourselves, we care about these details, and we’re putting that feedback to work with each update.

I received my watch just in time to test it on a scouting trip just before my archery sept hunt. I have never owned or worn another smart watch so my options are very unbiased. My initial thoughts were I loved the construction and look. I was a-little worried the size would deter me from wanting to wear it, but I shortly grew accustom to that. Set up was pretty straight forward and easy, interface is simple, and not overloaded with useless information.
The night before heading out I downloaded the maps needed, instructions were great and DL speeds were good. I do wish as I hunt a few different zones you could have more maps downloaded.
I live at 10,200 ft and immediately noticed my altimeter was off 600ft. I tried calibrating after locking gps but it was still off. New updates rolled out every few weeks and I’m not sure wich one fixed that issue but it seems to work great now.
My first test trip was a long hike so I tried out the hiking tracking feature. I wasn’t super impressed with the distance accuracy and my heart rate monitor was really off.
I reached out to Bridger help chat and Emily got back to me very fast. Her first question was if I had any dark tattoos on the wrist I was wearing the watch on. I have a full sleeve. A quick search verified most smartwatch sensors are in fact affected by the Ink! Easy fix switching wrist, and no fault of Bridger. I tried that out on my next outage and it seemed to be much more accurate on heart rate.

I took this watch out for elk and pronghorn in different states, far from home. Downloaded maps and waypoints ahead of time and everything worked seamlessly. With the redshift on in the early morning darkness, I used the maps and got right where I wanted to be without pulling out a phone or having a bright screen lighting up the night.
Both were public land hunts dancing on the edges of private, so I kept the maps running the whole time (Four days for one and two days for the other), without charging the battery. I can’t explain how nice it was to glance at a watch rather than use a phone to check OnX all day to make sure I was in the right place. Far more convenient than I expected it to be. The battery made it through both hunts, but didn’t have much left after four days. I definitely could have been more careful and made it last longer, but I wanted to see how it would do.
Same story with creating and following a track. The Antelope was easy, but the elk was 2.6 miles into a rocky mountainside. I got cliffed out several times on the first trip out, but made a track on the watch around all the worst spots and had a much easier pack out for the rest of the trips. I did make an OnX track on the phone as well, which I used a few times in tight spots only because the phone allows you to zoom in a bit more.
The only real issue I saw, which I believe is absolutely fixable, was the reflection from the watch face. I had to cover the watch with a shirt sleeve anytime the sun…

Loved having this on my wrist whilst hunting partner kept digging his phone out of his pockets. That being said, I would like more zoom on the map. I came off track often in very thick brush and deadfall from the track I laid down the day before during the daylight. Also need the ability to edit the names of these tracks so I know which one to pick when in the field. Also Mileage is WAY off on activity tracking.
But all in all having ballistics on my wrist for all the in between yardages that arnt on my scopes cheat sheet was clutch. Redshift is awesome!
Flashlight works well also.

Last weeks update should solve your milage being off in activity mode. Definitely let us know if you still any any issues with distance being off that should be good now.

Love the watch, had it for over a month now and still discovering new features it had to offer. My biggest complaint is that the battery uses about 25-30% a day. If I'm going to spend 4-5 days in the backcountry hunting I'm not going to bring this watch and will bring my Garmin that has a battery life of 30 days. In the picture my watch is at 92%, it was at 94% around around an hour before. Additionally, if the battery drains complete it messes up the date and time and I have to go back in an manually reset everything.

The battery drain and date/time reset you're describing definitely aren't what we expect you to be seeing. It sounds like you may be running into an issue that has been addressed in newer software.
Can you confirm you're fully up to date? On the watch go to Settings → System → Software Update. While you're at it, make sure the Bridger app is updated as well—we've pushed a lot of improvements to both over the last month.
If you're fully updated and still seeing 25–30% battery drain per day, please reach out to our customer service team. We'll work with you directly to figure out what's going on and get it resolved.
And seriously, thanks for the feedback. We want you confident taking your Reckon on that 4–5 day backcountry hunt, not leaving it at home.
